Dr. Crawford came to South Texas Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgical Associates in January 1998. Prior to this date, he was in private practice in San Antonio for 30 years. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

After receiving his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Crawford began his internship at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas. His general surgery residency at Baylor University was briefly interrupted while he served in the U.S. Navy from January 1962 to September 1963. After receiving an honorable discharge, Dr. Crawford returned to Baylor University to complete his general surgery residency and a three-year fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

Current activities and community involvement include church and charitable activities.
