  Venkatesan Srinivasan, M.D.

Dr. Srinivasan joined South Texas Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgical Associates in September 1997 practicing both pediatric and adult cardiothoracic surgery. Following his medical training, he was Assistant Professor of Surgery at State University of New York at Buffalo and then at the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, New Mexico. He began practice in San Antonio in 1983. Dr. Srinivasan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Srinivasan obtained his medical degree from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed an internship at the Osmania University Affiliated Hospitals prior to relocating to the United States. He went on to complete an internship at St Joseph's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and then became an assistant resident at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis Missouri. From there, he continued his training at the State University of New York at Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals where he completed a general surgery residency and a cardiothoracic surgery residency. In 1980 Dr. Srinivasan completed a pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship at Children's Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

Throughout his career, Dr. Srinivasan has served on committees for many medical facilities and organization. He has authored numerous articles published throughout the United States and the abroad.
